Ghanaian Soldier Begs Superiors To Retire Him Prematurely

A Ghanaian soldier is trending online after he formally requested an early retirement from his superiors, expressing his desire to transition away from military life.

Having faced resistance from military leadership over his request, the soldier, Issah Kudus, has taken to social media to voice his frustration with the Ghana Armed Forces for not approving his departure.

He claims to have completed all necessary administrative procedures to leave the Military but is encountering obstacles from within the organization that he cannot comprehend.

In a widely circulated video, the soldier admits that he lacks the mental resilience to continue serving in the Military.

“I am a Soldier of second battalion of infantry. I have requested to be released from the Ghana Armed Forces and end my career as a Soldier.

“On March 2024, I submitted a letter to the Ghana Armed Forces administratively requesting for a compassionate release. I went through my OCs Interview and my COs interview and I insisted I wanted to be released from the service based on personal reasons.

I gave reasons explaining why I cannot be in the Military again. I am the only person who knows what is around me and I don’t have the mental capacity to endure anything in the Military,” he said.
