God Has Already Given The Award To Me Spiritually- Piesie Esther Tells Critics

The 24th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards momentum is heating up and while fans are anticipating a showdown between Black Sherif and Piesie Esther who are vying for the topmost award, the latter has issued a new statement.

Recall that the topmost award at the VGMAs is the Artist of the Year and competing this year are Piesie Esthe, Black Sherif, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, King Promise, Camidoh, KiDi and Joe Mettle.

According to Piesie Esther, she is not desperate to win awards as some naysayers are proclaiming owing to how Christians and some fuctionaries within the gospel fraternity are clamouring for her to clinch the ultimate.

To this end, George Nii Armah Quaye believes the ongoing campaign hinged on the aforementioned is cunningly designed to influence the VGMA Board for Piesie Esther to win the coveted award.

However, responding to the claim, on Power FM in an interview, Piesie Esther categorically stated that, the claim by George Quaye cannot be acceptable adding that, she is not desperate for an award.

“We are doing this to show concerns that we are impressed with what is going on and we would be happy if we win it. But the way he said it, looks as if we are desperate to win. Trust me, I’m not desperate I must win the award by hook or crook.” Piesie Esther said.

She claims that she has already received the award spiritually from God. She added that the campaign is a means for her to use her music to share the Gospel, particularly in locations where people may not be familiar with her.

Black Sherif and Piesie Esther compete for Artiste of the Year at VGMAs

Ahead of the 24th edition of the annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards scheduled for May 13, 2023, Black Sherif has rallied for support from his fans and music lovers.

Having captivated Ghanaians with his craftmanship and aggressive musical persona, the youngster who dropped multiple hit songs during the year under review was nominated in a whopping 11 categories, thus putting him in pole position to grab a lot of awards on D-Day.

The rapper and songwriter, amongst the numerous categories he was nominated in, emerged in the Artiste of the Year, Vodafone Most Popular Song, Reggae/Dancehall Song and Collaboration of the Year categories.

Probably against the backdrop that the VGMAs over the years have been full of surprises fraught with contentious decisions, Black Sherif stormed Twitter to register himself in the subconscious mind of the fans as he appeals to them to consider voting for him to crown his hard work.

He posted;

You’ve seen m blood, sweat & tears. You’ve seen the ups & downs of my journey. I’ve had my lips shut and my eyes opened ever since I stepped in the game. I don’t plan on changing that, not today, not tomorrow. Let’s go VGMA.
