The swift intervention of the Ayawaso North Ambulance service saved a newborn baby who was dumped in the Achimota Forest.
As per the account originally shared by Jacob Kubi of UTV, a group of individuals who frequently visit the forest for prayer were engaged in their customary activity when they heard the sound of a crying infant. Initially, they assumed that a nursing mother had brought her child to the forest and that the baby was crying.
However, the persistent nature of the crying piqued their curiosity, prompting them to investigate the source of the sound. Upon arriving at the location, they discovered a newborn baby wrapped in a polythene bag, which had been abandoned in the forest by an unknown individual.
Fearing for the infant’s safety, they promptly returned to their community to alert the Ambulance service in Ayawaso North constituency. However, the response time of the personnel was not immediate.
Fortunately, while they were waiting, they spotted an ambulance rushing a patient in critical condition to a medical facility. Although the personnel on board were initially hesitant to delay the patient, they eventually agreed to assist in transporting the abandoned infant to a hospital.
Jacob Kubi reported that the ambulance sped off with the rescued baby and the patient, who was already onboard. More updates on this story will be shared in subsequent publications on Tru News Report.
