I Am Back From The Dead- OV Announces

Okailey Verse (OV) has revealed on MX24 and monitored by Tru News Report that she is back with a bang and ready to do what she loves doing most which is churning out great music.

The former Buniton Music Group signee spoke about her struggles with mental issues after her exit from Stonebwoy’s camp. Known by her real name as Barbara Naa Okailey Nyarko, OV’s contract with Burniton Music Group was cancelled after barely a year

OV, who won MTN Hitmaker in 2018 and gained notoriety after leaving Burniton Music over her appearance—which many said was the result of hard drugs—made headlines a few years ago.

However, following her departure from Stonebwoy’s Burniton Music Group, OV previously told Giovanni on 3FM Drive that she was depressed and struggling with her mental health. She said that Stonebwoy’s cancellation of her contract had a significant impact on her.

“It was after the exit. It was something that hit me very hard. It got me thinking, ‘Am I not enough? It started giving me doubts about deserving to be on a label. It put me through some state that I will not wish for my enemy. It put me through a lot. I was depressed. It got to a point I stayed away from everybody.”

OV disclosed that while on tour with another performer, she experienced a psychotic break. She talked about how she nearly tore her clothing off and needed to be taken home in an Uber immediately. She stated that after her despair turned into a mental breakdown that left her crippled, the former Bhim Nation and MTN hitmaker winner was institutionalized.

“I was at a friend’s event. When I got there, I felt like something was not right. So I went out. I started feeling a burning sensation and wanted to take off my clothes.

“I was confined for two weeks. It got to a point where they gave me an overdose of the medicine, unknowingly, and I was paralyzed and drooling all over”.

When asked about her purported addiction, OV stated that she had never used narcotic drugs. She attributed her mental ailment to depression. Music, according to OV, also saved her and some mentally challenged people at the sanitarium.

In this new interview conducted on MX24, Okailey highlighted this subject once again but confidently said she had shaken all these ‘wahala’ off and is back to give her fans something to savour indefinitely. OV literally said she is back from the dead to satisfy her fans with good music.
