I Didn’t Want People To Disrespect My Wife—Foster Romanus Opens Up On ‘Secret Wedding’

Comedian Foster Romanus revealed that the fear of facing unwanted opinions regarding his choice of partner, as seen in recent celebrity weddings, led him to keep his wedding private.

He explained that he wanted to shield his wife from disrespect, as he believes that people tend to impose their preferences on public figures and undermine their decisions.

According to him, this is why he chose to prioritize his wife’s well-being by keeping their wedding out of the public eye.

“Because of the attention that it comes with, and then I’ve seen a couple of weddings where people tend to disrespect your choice. The person you think is best for you then that person thinks what is wrong with you? Why this choice? I didn’t want my wife to go through that,” he told Eddie Nartey on his brand new Unscripted Show.

Romanus’s stance is a result of the treatment Ghanaians gave actor Harold Amenya, who claimed that his wife was not attractive enough despite the actor’s good looks.

The 33-year-old tied the knot with his longtime partner, Irene Owusu, surrounded by family and friends at a private ceremony in Peduase in April 2023. Unfortunately, an unfiltered photo of the couple surfaced online before the official pictures were released, leading to negative remarks from online viewers about the bride.

The actor replied to the trolls by posting a new picture showcasing the stunning appearance of the bride. Harold was also captured showering her with affectionate kisses. The second image in the post displayed a close-up of Irene’s hand adorned with jewellery, including a captivating wedding band.
