‘John Wick’ Actor, Lance Reddick Passes Away Suddenly At Age 60

Actor Lance Reddick, best known for his roles in “The Wire” and the “John Wick” series, has passed away at age 60.

The actor was found deceased in his Los Angeles home on Friday morning, March 17th. His publicist confirmed the news of his passing and stated that he died suddenly from natural causes.

Reddick was a prolific actor who also starred in “Lost” and “Fringe,” as well as in video games such as “Destiny” and “Horizon: Zero Dawn.”

Many followers and colleagues mourned his demise on social media, as he was a well-liked person in the entertainment world.

In a Twitter post, Wendell Pierce, his co-star on “The Wire,” called Reddick’s death a “painful grief for our artistic family.”

Filmmaker James Gunn called Reddick “an incredibly nice guy, and an incredibly talented actor” in a tweet.

Reddick’s career extended over more than three decades, during which he established himself as an actor capable of portraying a wide variety of roles.

“I’m an artist at heart. I feel that I’m very good at what I do. When I went to drama school, I knew I was at least as talented as other students, but because I was a Black man and I wasn’t pretty, I knew I would have to work my butt off to be the best that I would be, and to be noticed,” he told the Los Angeles Times in 2009.

His portrayal of Cedric Daniels in the critically acclaimed HBO series “The Wire,” which exposed drug trafficking and political corruption in Baltimore, earned him widespread recognition.

Reddick received tremendous accolades from critics and spectators for his subtle performance. In addition to his work in front of the camera, Reddick was also a skilled voice actor. He provided his voice for a number of video games, including “Destiny” as Commander Zavala and “Horizon Zero Dawn” as Sylens. His imposing appearance and powerful voice made him a sought-after star in the industry.

The passing of Reddick is a significant loss to the entertainment business. Fans will remember his contributions to movies, television, and video games for years to come.

May his soul rest in peace.
