After graduating from high school, he met Wenyeji’s Robert and began rhyming. Robert introduced him to Ukoo Fulani later on.

Due to his musical flow and passionate performance, he was incorporated into the group. Together, they performed at a number of local venues and nightclubs, including the renowned Florida 2000 nightclub and casino.

“Mtaa Mentality,” a critically acclaimed studio album, was released in December 2008 as the outcome of this organization. Eve D’Souza, the radio host, encouraged all fans of cognizant music to acquire this collection.

In 2001, the group released the full-length album Kilio Cha Haki, which featured Juliani’s Fanya Tena.

During his time with the band, he had a spiritual revelation. As he interacted with them more, he realized that their spirituality was strange and enigmatic and that it was distinct from his own conception of religion.

In 2005, after much introspection and conviction, he directed his spirituality in the proper direction and was reborn.

He was introduced to Brayo (of the group Warogi Wawili) and Brayo, who had previously been converted, introduced him to the Nairobi Lighthouse Church where he started attending fellowship meetings and developing a relationship with Christ.

Soon, he began performing at a variety of Gospel events, such as the Zaidi Ya Mziki album launch by Jogg-C and Gospel Fathers, The K-Rave, and many others.

During a school excursion at Moi Forces Academy in August 2006, he met Astar and was so impressed by him that he decided to introduce him to Kijiji Records.

Astar had just finished recording his debut single Close Your Eyes, which was currently at the top of the local music rankings. He invited Juliani to contribute to the remix of the aforementioned single.

He moved on to record Pendo Kweli with Kanjii at Kijiji Records. Fans of secular musicians Common or The Roots are certain to find irresistible the neo-soul meets hip hop connection in Pendo Kweli’s music.

Together, he and the KORA-selected Astar visited numerous colleges and universities.

Midway through 2008, he collaborated with other top artists to release the award-winning ‘Wakenya Pamoja’ single and video.

In 2008, Juliani was the first Kenyan artist to be signed to a UK-based record label, Gatwitch Records.
