Kennedy Agyapong Is Going Down- Ursula Owusu

Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, the Member of Parliament for the Ablekuma West constituency has confidently predicted that Kennedy Agyapong will not emerge victorious in the ongoing voting by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to elect a flagbearer for the party in the 2024 elections.

She further asserts that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will win with a resounding 80% of the votes in her constituency. With a total of 203,439 delegates expected to cast their ballots across the country, the MP and Minister of Communications believe that Kennedy Agyapong will soon realize the overwhelming support for Vice President Bawumia’s candidature.

In a media interview at her constituency on Saturday, November 4, 2023, Mrs Owusu-Ekuful confidently stated her position.

“I know what the kingmakers in this constituency have told me. Bawumia will secure nothing less than 80 per cent of the votes. Everybody will their smoothness level in this constituency.”

Meanwhile, on Thursday, November 2, 2023, the NPP’s council of elders organized a meeting with the flagbearer aspirants ahead of the November 4 presidential primaries, which has unofficially been dubbed Showdown.

The meeting, held at the party headquarters, brought together the two leading candidates, Kennedy Agyapong and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, who exchanged pleasantries with a firm handshake. Despite the intense campaign period, the aspirants seemed to avoid eye contact and look in different directions.

As reported by Tru News Report previously, Kennedy Agyapong made a serious allegation, claiming that Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia and his campaign team attempted to bribe him with an offer of him become Dr. Bawumia’s running mate.

The Assin Central MP made these allegations during his campaign tour of the Ashanti Region, where he addressed his supporters at the Jubilee Park in Kumasi. Mr Agyapong firmly rejected the offer and expressed his concerns about Dr Bawumia’s actions and other activities, which he believes could potentially harm the party.

He further emphasized that the Vice President and his team were resorting to intimidation tactics against party members who did not support him.
The Ashanti region witnessed a significant show of support for Kennedy Agyapong, as a large number of residents took to the streets of Kumasi to express their solidarity with him.

To substantiate his propaganda against Bawumia who comes up against him on November 4, 2023, in the NPP flagbearership elections, Kennedy Agaypong stated that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia stands no chance against John Dramani Mahama in the 2024 elections.

Sounding very furious during a recent radio interview on Kings Radio, a US-based media outlet, on September 24, 2023, the aspiring flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) put forth an allegation suggesting that Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has made commitments to assign the vice presidential position to seven Members of Parliament from the Ashanti Region.

Mr Agyapong further expressed his concern that if Dr Bawumia were to assume the role of the party’s flagbearer, it could potentially result in the NPP being relegated to the opposition. He argued that even in the event of a victory, Dr Bawumia would be unable to surpass the popularity and influence of Mahama.
