Jean-Pierre Nimbona, popularly known by his stage name Kidum, is a father of seven. Two of his children are from his current wife, and the other five are from his previous marriages to two other women.
The songwriter, who is popular in entertainment in Kenya and also performs in Rundi and Swahili, is a married man and has seven kids from three different women. The artiste said he met his current wife after a performance in a popular city pub in 2010. They got married in 2012 and had their first child, Nicole, in 2015. Their second child, Kidum Junior, was born in 2019.
In an interview with Standard Media in 2022, the talented singer talked about his marriage story, which included having three wives and seven children. “I met my first wife when I was still a refugee. We stayed together for five years, after which we separated. When I went back home to Burundi, I met my second wife, with whom I stayed for 10 years before we separated. At this point, my music had started picking up and it was a little bit difficult to balance between career and family. I am now with my third wife.”
Kidum said he met his third wife thirteen years ago while she was in university.
“I will not tell you her name, but I met her in 2010. She is from Bungoma. I knew her when she was still a university student, and what attracted me to her was her simplicity. She would juggle her studies with selling bananas. At that time, I was looking for someone who would love me for who I am and not for money or fame. She is a beautiful woman and has been with me through thick and thin,” Kidum stated.

Kidum and his current wife married in 2012 and had their first child, Nicole, in 2015. Their second child, Kidum Junior, was born in 2019. According to reports, Kidum is purported to have been married three times, but on different occasions. He has seven children. His first wife was a woman he met in the Kakuma refugee camp. They were together for five years before calling it off. He later remarried, and he and his second wife were together for ten years before divorcing. He recently settled down with a Bungoma woman, and the couple now has two kids.
