West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus extended his congratulations to Ghanaian forward Abdul Fatawu Issahaku after he clinched Leicester City’s Men’s Young Player of the Year award at the club’s awards ceremony on Tuesday evening.
The event, which took place at the King Power Stadium, brought together the club’s playing and technical staff from all levels to honour key contributors to their season. Issahaku, who impressed Leicester fans with seven goals and 13 assists in 42 appearances across all competitions, was named Young Player of the Year.
Last month, Issahaku made history as the first Ghanaian to score a hat-trick in the Championship, netting three goals against Southampton in a 5-0 victory at home.
With Leicester’s promotion to the Premier League next season, Issahaku will aim to secure a permanent deal at the club based on his impressive performances this season.
In response to the news, Mo Kudus, who plays alongside Issahaku at the international level, praised his compatriot as an outstanding player.
“What a player and what a season! Proud watching you,” Kudus wrote.
