According to a statement from the congresswoman, Rep. Lauren Boebert has filed for divorce from Jayson Boebert.
The divorce, according to Boebert, who was first elected in 2020, was caused by “truly about irreconcilable differences.”
“I’ve always been faithful in my marriage, and I believe strongly in marriage, which makes this announcement that much more difficult,” she said in her statement.
Boebert also said she does not intend to discuss the matter further, out of respect for her children. She shares four sons with Jayson, who “has worked his entire adult life in oil and gas fields,” according to her website.

It is with a heavy weight on my heart that I have filed for divorce from my husband. I am grateful for our years of marriage together and for our beautiful children, all of whom deserve privacy and love as we work through this process. Who is Lauren Boebert?
Lauren Boebert is an American politician, businesswoman, and gun rights activist serving as the U.S. representative for Colorado’s 3rd congressional district. From 2013 to 2022, she owned Shooters Grill, a restaurant in Rifle, Colorado, where staff members were encouraged to carry firearms openly.
Boebert accepted a position as an assistant manager at a McDonald’s in Rifle after graduating from high school. She began working as a filing clerk for a natural gas drilling business after getting married in 2007. Later, she joined a team that constructs and maintains pipelines and pumping stations as a pipeliner.
