Live Within Your Means- Ohemaa Woyeje Tells Colleagues Days After Serwaa Amihere’s Brouhaha

Ohemaa Woyeje has emphasized to the Daily Graphic in an exclusive interview that journalists should prioritize living within their means and resist the temptation to compare themselves to others who may have more.

Interestingly, her statement coincided with the release of Serwaa Amihere’s private video, which has sparked rumours that she resorted to such measures to finance her extravagant lifestyle, something that her profession alone couldn’t afford.

Ohemaa argued that professionals in the field are often expected to conform to unrealistic standards, and appearances, or possess certain material possessions, as dictated by some individuals in the media industry.

She deemed these expectations unnecessary and cautioned against succumbing to peer pressure or conforming to these unrealistic ideals, as they could potentially hinder one’s professional longevity.

“My little piece of advice to up-and-coming journalists, presenters and even my established colleagues is that you can be the best when you are yourself. Anything you are trying to become is your master.

“ If you can’t be anything, just be yourself. Don’t allow all these unrealistic standards set by certain people to sway you from your goals, or else you will not last long in the industry. Thrive on originality and carve your path rather than conforming to inconsistent norms.

“If you pay heed to all of these pressures by some of our colleagues to dress in a certain way, drive certain types of cars, live by certain standards, you won’t make any impact in this industry,” the popular on-air personality said.

Furthermore, Ohemaa expressed her desire to leave a lasting impression as someone who embodies originality.

She firmly believes in staying true to herself and has never compromised her authenticity to please others. Additionally, she consistently delivers exceptional performances, showcasing her natural talent and remarkable versatility.

“I want to be remembered for being original. I came as me and I have maintained who I am. I never changed to suit anyone. I perform my best self. Natural and uniquely versatile. Jack of all trades and master of all; the records are there to back it,” she added.
