Majid Michel’s Biography

Majid Michel was born in Accra, Capital of Ghana on September 22,1980 to a Lebanese father and a Ghanaian mother. He is an actor, model, television personality and a humanitarian. He is a born-again Christian and evangelist. Majid has nine siblings, and he is married to Virna Michel with three children. 

Education

Majid started his primary education at St. Theresa’s Primary School and had his secondary education at Mfantsipim Senior High School. In secondary school, Majid was actively involved in theatre and was a member of the school’s Drama Club. During his time as a member of the school drama club, he received a Best Actor Award in one of their performances on Emancipation Day in Cape Coast, Ghana.

Majid Michel started as model with Super Model Agency in Accra, Ghana. His acting career began when he starred in the television series “Things We Do For Love” which was most popular TV series in 2003. He was known in the television series as “Shaker” with his colleagues Adjetey Anang as “Pusher” and Jackie Appiah as “Enyonam”. Things We Do For Love became a success and ushered him into the mainstream acting. Majid played a lead role in his first movie, “Divine Love”, alongside Jackie Appiah as the female lead with Van Vicker in a supporting role.

Mumuni of Venus Films. The two (Frank and Abdul Salam) featured Majid in several movies including Crime to Christ (2007), Agony of Christ (2008), Heart of Men (2009), The Game (2010) and Who Loves Me? (2010) amongst others in Nigeria (Nollywood).

In 2008, Majid starred as the lead role in the movie Agony of the Christ, which received seven nominations at the Africa Movie Academy Awards in 2009. Majid became popular in Nigeria movie industry (Nollywood) with the help of Nigerian movie director, Frank Rajah Arase and Ghanaian film producer, Abdul Salam Mumuni of Venus Films. The two (Frank and Abdul Salam) featured Majid in several movies including Crime to Christ (2007), Agony of Christ (2008), Heart of Men (2009), The Game (2010) and Who Loves Me? (2010) amongst others in Nigeria (Nollywood).
