According to a New York Post report, a guy shot himself after having a dream that he was being robbed.
Police discovered Mark M. Dicara, 62, with a gunshot wound to the leg in April at his Illinois home.
He explained to detectives that he had a nightmare about being robbed, which caused him to wake up in the middle of the night to get his.357 Magnum Revolver.
He told police officers he was having a nightmare about being robbed, which led him to get his .357 Magnum Revolver gun whilst still sleeping.
‘When he fired, he shot himself and apparently woke up from the dream,’ Lake County Sheriff’s Office said.
According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, after he fired, he accidentally shot himself and ‘apparently woke up from the dream.
They verified there had been no genuine burglary. His leg was shot through, and the bullet landed on the bed. Dicara was accused of having a handgun in her possession while her Illinois-required handgun Owners Identification card was suspended. It is unclear why this was revoked.
He was also accused of firing a gun carelessly. He posted a $150,000 bond and was granted bail. He has a June 29 court date.
