Meet DJ Joe Mfalme’s Parents

DJ Joe Mfalme’s real name is Joseph Mwenda. He is a mainstream Kenyan DJ with extensive experience in entertainment in Kenya.

He was born in Meru, Tanzania, on December 9, 1987. DJ Joe attended Consolata Primary School and Moi Forces Academy. Shang Tao Media Arts College in Nairobi was his next stop. He earned a Higher Diploma in 3D Animation Arts and Music Production. 

His interest in becoming a DJ began at the age of 13 when he began listening to some of Kenya’s first DJs. Dj Pinye was among the DJs he was listening to.

Mfalme also spent a substantial amount of time listening to international DJs and emulating their spinning styles. He could do this repeatedly until he developed his own unique sound and cadence.

In 2008, Joe Mfalme launched his career by placing second in a disc jockey competition. The fierce competition that unearthed the best and brightest talents in the nation led to his recruitment by Capital FM, which offered him a contract.

A year later, DJ Joe Mfalme would compete against other top radio DJs from rival radio stations and defeat them all to earn the title of Best Media DJ.

Beyond radio, DJ Joe Mfalme operates his own enterprise that provides a wide range of entertainment options. The company also provides DJ services.

His career as an entertainer has garnered him recognition and awards from a variety of platforms, including Media Dj, DJ of the Year, and African Global DJ.

“I have always been curious about how these things take off, which was why I signed up to learn how to fly one. This is what I initially wanted to do but coming from a humble background, I had to do something else and I opted for animation and design,” he said.
