Michael Essien Acquires UEFA A License

Michael Essien has successfully finished his UEFA A License coaching course, according to a post he shared on Twitter.

The former Real Madrid and Chelsea footballer posted on social media to certify the achievement and to share his joy. Essien thanked FC Nordsjaelland and Right to Dream Academy for their support over the past few years in a statement on Twitter.

He announced the good news to his fans across the world saying;

Step by step, I am learning and growing as a coach. Happy to have completed my UEFA A and UEFA Elite Youth A license. Thanks to the family, @fawales, my tutors, my mentor, and RTD/FCN for the support. And big thank you to Tom Vernon and Flemming Pedersen.

Essien was training with the Danish Superliga club Nordsjaelland, where he also had the chance to help with work related to the Superliga team and a number of the club’s academy teams.

Essien also gained a better understanding of the teaching and development of young people off the field in FCN, which served as inspiration for his ongoing coaching education. This information was made public on August 19, 2020. Nordsjlland collaborates with the Ghanaian Right to Dream Academy.

However, the club officially announced on September 9, 2020, that Essien had joined the club’s coaching staff for the 2020–21 campaign.

Thus, he would simultaneously serve as an assistant on the coaching team, taking part in the training sessions to best execute the exercises and being able to add fresh perspectives to the coaching team’s evaluations.
