Mavis Hawa Koomson, the Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development has urged Ghanaians to refrain from lamenting about the high cost of rent in the country.

During an interview on Accra-based Onua FM, she highlighted the situation in Canada and other developed countries, stating that individuals pay 2000 Canadian dollars monthly for a one-bedroom flat.

She emphasized that, despite the challenges, Ghana is faring better than many other countries. Hawa Koomson encouraged citizens to support the government in overcoming these global challenges instead of complaining.

“There is hardship everywhere. I am not saying people are not suffering, but when you compare Ghana to other countries, Ghana is doing very well.

“There is a woman who says they should exchange Nana Addo’s salary for hers, but I can tell you that she won’t be satisfied even when she is given Nana Addo’s money because the higher she earns, the more he needs,” she said.
