Mr Eazi’s Biography

Mr. Eazi was born in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, the capital and largest city of Rivers State. He was raised in an entrepreneurial family. His mother had a modest business, while his father is an airline pilot. The latter parent founded his own private aviation consultancy firm.

While in primary school in Lagos, Mr Eazi sang in the school chorus for a short time. Throughout his childhood, he listened to recordings that his father would play for the family while they ate breakfast. Mr Eazi moved to Ghana at the age of 16 to complete his education, enrolling in the mechanical engineering programme at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). During his time at KNUST, Mr Eazi began making songs. He provided guest vocals on the song “My Life,” which gained traction and became a successful record at KNUST.

Prior to that, he founded Swagger Entertainment, a party and marketing company. He used this platform to schedule concerts and promote activities on the KNUST campus.

At the age of 23, he returned to Nigeria and launched his own e-commerce platform. Mr Eazi told The Guardian newspaper that when he returned to Nigeria, he temporarily worked for Schlumberger. He also told the aforementioned newspaper that his business endeavours included the importation of soft beverages, gold mining, and food distribution. He told Highsnobiety that he created six businesses.

Mr Eazi left his job as a club promoter in 2014 after an artist failed to show up for the grandest party he sought to throw. He graduated from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on June 7, 2022.

Mr. Eazi married Temi Otedola, the daughter of Nigerian billionaire Femi Otedola and DJ Cuppy’s sister, on April 10, 2022.
