My First Marriage Lasted Less Than 5 Months—Hammer

Legendary music producer Hammer of the Last Two fame recently shared insights into his first marriage and the reasons behind his prolonged single status.

During an appearance on D-Black’s ‘Uncut Show’, he disclosed the circumstances that led to the breakdown of his first marriage.

He mentioned that his marriage, which lasted just five months following their traditional wedding, was a result of a hasty decision because he got her pregnant. The producer emphasized that their decision to marry was primarily to avoid societal judgment, particularly concerning her pregnancy.

However, both parties soon realized their incompatibility, leading to an amicable separation.

“So even though we were not mutually very much in love, I still thought it would work. So I decided to wed her, like a traditional quiet one,” Hammer said.

However, the couple found out quickly that they did not have enough affection for each other to keep the marriage going, the producer indicated.

“So we had to agree that, look, this won’t go anywhere. And the further it goes, the more damage it will do. So that’s why we’re able to become good friends. The match wasn’t made in heaven but we were great friends, especially because we raise a kid together,” Hammer said.

Hammer, renowned for his contributions to the mainstream success of rappers like Obrafuor, Sarkodie, Edem, Kwaw Kese, and Tinny, has made it clear that he has no intentions of remarrying. His primary focus lies solely on his children.
