NDC Primaries: Baba Sadiq Pulls 682 Votes To Win Okaikoi Central
Boss of 3Music Awards, Abdullai Abu Sadiq, better known as Baba Sadiq, has won the Okaikoi Central constituency primary election during the National Democratic Congress (NDC) nationwide internal elections conducted on May 13, 2023.
According to information provided by an Electoral Commission (EC) official, Sadiq received 682 votes, beating out his nearest challenger Nadine Issah Salifu, who received 267. The other two candidates, Fred Nii Tetteh and Judge Hasford Quartey garnered 118 and 94 votes, respectively.
Baba Sadiq has contributed significantly to NDC party affairs over the past four years or more, most notably through the creation of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) manifesto for the arts ahead of the 2020 elections.
Patrick Yaw Boamah, a member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), is the present MP for Okaikoi Central.
Back in 2022, Sadiq announced his resignation from the 3Music Awards which he founded and headed for five years ostensibly to pursue his political career which had been nursing for years.
Despite his choice to resign, Sadiq, a media veteran with more than 17 years of experience, stated in a lengthy Facebook post on September 30, 2022, that he was prepared to serve his people and community if needed.
