NPP Denies Claims Party Has Been Hijacked

The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpong Koduah, has denied claims that the party has been hijacked as propagated by Alan Kyeremanteng during his speech to announce his resignation from the NPP on Monday.

Kodua, on behalf of the NPP, addressed some of the salient issues Mr. Alan raised to substantiate the reason why he has decided to resign from the NPP and go independent as far as the 2024 elections are concerned.

The party also reminded its rank and file to remain calm ahead of the 2024 elections because, regardless of this unfortunate dent within their party, they still remain resolute to win the next general elections.

Alan Kyeremanten, on Monday, September 25, 2023, announced his resignation from the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He indicated that he needed to leave the political party after years of persecution from the leadership of the party.

Parts of his speech said, “Under the circumstances and given the context provided, I wish to use this platform to announce that I am honourably resigning with immediate effect from the New Patriotic Party to contest for the high office of the President of the Republic of Ghana in the 2024 General Elections, as an Independent Presidential Candidate“.

“To actualise this goal, I will establish and lead a new MOVEMENT FOR CHANGE in Ghana. The brand logo for the MOVEMENT is the Monarch Butterfly, which politically symbolizeschange and transformation, hope, and positivity. It also communicates strength, endurance, spirituality, and trust, which are key traits that I cherish as a Political Leader. In Akan, it is known as Afrafranto. The brand motto of the MOVEMENT is “Ghana Will Rise Again,” which symbolizes hope for the future of Ghana.”
