NPP Primaries: Thousands Turn Up For Bawumia As He Submits Nominations Forms

Supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and young people crowded the party’s head office where Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia submitted his forms to run for the party’s flagbearer on Friday, June 16, 2023.

At the NPP headquarters in Asylum Down, he was surrounded by hundreds of party members. Upon the Vice President’s arrival, the NPP party headquarters became a bustling hub of excitement.

The Vice President requested constant prayers from the Ghanaian people for divine intervention and favour for himself and his administration. As the country goes through the process of electing new leaders, he also asked for continuous prayer.

Dr. Bawumia spent time interacting with NPP supporters while he was at the NPP headquarters. He urged them to use the passionate support they were showing to vote for him on election day so that he could carry out the many excellent policies that would eventually change their lives.

Early last month, Dr. Bawumia’s forms were collected by prominent party members, including former National Organiser Sammy Awuku and Vice Chairman Fred Oware. On Monday, Alan Kyerematen, one of the frontrunners, submitted his application.

Over the course of the past few months, Dr. Bawumia has had lengthy discussions about his intention to pursue the NPP’s nomination for flagbearer.

He consulted the NPP’s Majority Caucus in Parliament, the Party’s Council of Elders, and other traditional and religious leaders to discuss his aspirations to become party leader after President Akufo-Addo’s term ends in 2025.
