I’ll Drink Poison And Die If Bawumia Wins – NPP’s Mr Alex Tetteh Says Defiantly

A member of Kennedy Ohene Agyapong’s campaign team from Assin Central, Mr Alex Tetteh, has passionately opposed the idea of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia becoming the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer before the 2024 elections.

The current vice president of Ghana, Mr Tetteh, who is also the founder and head of the pressure group Citizen Eye Ghana (CITEG), has lost contact with the party’s fundamental supporters.

Mr Tetteh went so far as to threaten to commit suicide by consuming poison if Bawumia is chosen over his boss Kennedy Agyapong in an interview on Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia morning show.

Delegates from the NPP have made it their mission to vote against the vice president because, in his opinion, he has failed to represent their interests and is only trying to buy his way through the election.

“The day that you see that delegates have elected Bawumia… I will drink poison and die. You will not hear me speak on the radio again.

Let the time come and we will see. You think you can just give someone money and go sit somewhere after four years then you come back to them? See how dejected NPP delegates have become despite their party being in power. It is as if they are rather in opposition,” he stated.

He noted that Kennedy Agyapong will win the NPP flagbearership due to his record of promoting delegates’ welfare and fidelity to the party.

Who is Dr Mahamudu Bawumia wife, Samira Bawumia?

Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is married to Samira Bawumia. Before moving on to the Akosombo International School (AIS) and finally the Mfantsiman Girls’ Secondary School in Saltpond in the Central Region of Ghana, Samira began her early education at the Answarudeen Islamic School at Fadama and Alsyd Academy in Accra.

Samira won the Ghanaian Women Association of Georgia Global Humanitarian Award in May 2022 for her efforts to improve women’s empowerment, maternity and child health, and education in the USA. Additionally, she was acknowledged by Macon-Bibb County and the Atlanta City Council.
