Nyantakyi To See Anas’ Face For The First Time According To A Decision From High Court

According to a MyJoyOnline publication, investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas will testify against former Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kwasi Nyantakyi in open court, according to a High Court decision.

The report says Mr Nyantakyi will have the chance to see him in private before the testimony. The court issued this decision in response to an application made by Mr Nyantakyi’s attorneys. They had pleaded with the court to give them the chance to catch a glimpse of Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ true face.

This is related to the former football official’s criminal trial, which resulted from the Number 12 documentary, which intended to reveal corruption in Ghanaian football.

In its decision, the court stated that it is in the interests of justice to provide the necessary resources for a citizen to defend oneself when that individual’s liberty is in jeopardy.

Anas is a key witness in the case’s resolution, it was stated. It was noted that his identity becomes essential for the accused to recognize him and be able to defend himself.

The court argued that Anas was comfortable being in public while disguised because he was observed there speaking to the media while donning his bead masks.

“Investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas will testify against former GFA President Kwasi Nyantakyi in open court but disguised in a mask

“Mr. Nyantakyi will however have the opportunity to see his face in chambers before such testimony.”

Similarly, Assin Central Member of Parliament Kennedy Agyapong had a $25,000,000 defamation claim filed against him by Investigative Journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas dismissed by an Accra High Court on March 15, 2023.

Justice Eric Baah, who is in charge of the case, told the press that Anas did not show that Ken Agyapong defamed him by showing the documentary. The “Who watches the watchman” documentary instead unveiled several secrets of Anas.

This was followed by what seemed to be a verbal altercation between Anas’s lawyer and Kennedy Agyapong. It has been reported that a member of parliament was caught on tape using disrespectful language against the lawyer, who seems to have caused a stir during the court sessions.

We may never know what the MP was reacting to, but he kept stressing that he had been labeled a murderer and that he wouldn’t tolerate such talk.

Using profanity, Kennedy Agyapong questioned the lawyer’s integrity, “Look at the language he is using, please. Call him to order, what do you mean? Who the hell do you also think you are? You are a lawyer and so what? What do you mean? are you mad or what” he said, angrily.

“Are you mad? look at the language he’s using… You see the other guy is nice… See his rubbish dress are you mad, do you think we are stupid I’m also a lawmaker and I will take him on. This other guy is very nice and professional. But this one is always disrespecting me in court. This small boy, every time he comes to court, he is disrespecting me.”
