O.J. Simpson Dies After Cancer Battle

The family of O.J. Simpson has announced that the former football star, who was accused and later acquitted of the 1994 murders of his ex-wife and her friend, has passed away at the age of 76.

“On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren.

During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace,” a statement from his family said.

In May 2023, Simpson shared a video on social media platform X, previously known as Twitter, where he disclosed his battle with cancer and undergoing chemotherapy. He expressed optimism by stating that it seemed like he had overcome the illness, without specifying the type of cancer he was dealing with.

However, in February 2024, a Las Vegas TV station reported that Simpson was once again receiving treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer. Simpson himself addressed the rumours in a video on X, refuting claims of being in hospice care while neither confirming nor denying his health condition.

Two days later, in another video update on X, Simpson expressed gratitude towards those who had shown support and reassured that his health was stable.

Known as “The Juice,” Simpson achieved great success as a football player and later expanded his fame and wealth through various ventures such as sportscasting, acting in movies and television, and serving as a spokesperson, notably for Hertz rental cars.
