OccupyJulorBi: Cina Soul Spotted At Police Station Showing Solidarity To Arrested Protesters

In a widely shared video online, songstress Cina Soul can be seen offering support to the #OccupyJulorBi protesters who were detained while holding a demonstration near the Jubilee House on September 21, 2023.

The Ghanaian artiste was seen engaging with some of the protestors’ relatives and friends at the regional police headquarters in Accra in the aforementioned video.

The protesters (Democracy Hub), led by Oliver Barker-Vormawor, raised awareness of their arrest on social media while exposing how the police had restricted their fundamental rights. This development followed that. He claimed that the nation had turned the police into weapons in order to disperse protesters, calling it a violation of democracy.

“We don’t know where they are taking us. They have no right to arrest demonstrators in the country. This is not the democracy we signed up for. This is not a democracy.”

The protestors had earlier notified the Ghana Police Service of a planned demonstration on Nkrumah Memorial Day to call on “the President and members of the Economic Management Team to #FixTheCountry in light of the level of economic mismanagement and theft that has engulfed our government from the highest levels.”

Ghanaian blogger and media personality Ölele | Deep Throat Sauce👨🏾‍🍳🇬🇭 shared details of what happened to the protesters as sharred below;

Myself and some reporters from @Joy997FM & @Citi973 (ones I’ve personally seen) are not allowed to interact with the protesters who have been detained at the Accra Regional Police Headquarters. Now, what I can confirm is the group of protesters have been split into sub-groups and have been sent to different police stations(Content Creator @CHIDERAHDAVID & a few others have been taken to Korle Bu Police Station, I’m reliably informed). They have been detained in rooms. I had an opportunity to have a sneak peek in one of the rooms where some of protesters have been detained. I could immediately identify @fremekwame & @barkervogues as part of them. The Commander stationed here will not speak to us or answer any of our questions. However, I’ve seen him having a conversation with a young lawyer upon arrival.
