Owner Of Hilton Hotel, Two Others Sentenced To Death By Hanging For Murder Of A Student In Nigeria

Dr. Rahmon Adedoyin, owner of the Hilton Hotel in Ile-Ife, Nigeria, was found guilty of murdering a student named Timothy Adegoke and sentenced to death by hanging, along with two other employees of the hotel.

According to Justice Oyebola Ojo, the Chief Judge of Osun State sitting in the High Court in Osogbo, the three defendants were guilty of conspiracy to commit murder and the unlawful killing of the postgraduate student of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU).

Adeniyi Aderogba (age 37) and Kazeem Oyetunde (age 38), both hotel employees, were also found guilty and sentenced to death.

The court found three Hilton Hotels employees, Magdalene Chiefuna, Lawrence Oluwole, and Adedeji Adesola, not guilty and released them; the seventh defendant will receive a sentence on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, the Chief Judge of Osun State, Justice Adepele Ojo, handed down a death sentence for Adeniyi Aderogba and Kazeem Oyetunde, both employees of the Hilton Hotels in Ile-Ife.

According to the Daily Post, Timothy Adegoke, died at the Hilton Hotels in the city in November 2021. Adegoke, 37, was last seen on November 5, 2021, when he checked into the Hilton Hotels and Resorts in Ile-Ife after travelling from Abuja.

The next day, on November 6 and 7, 2021, he had a test scheduled at the OAU Distance Learning Centre in Moro, Osun State but he went missing, after a police investigation into hotel owner Dr. Rahman Adedoyin and his staff, his body was found buried in a cemetery.
