Pastor Held Over Murder Of Student Nurse At Mankessim Confesses To Another Crime

After confessing to the murder and burial of a 25-year-old student nurse at Mankessim in the Central Region last year, a chief and a self-described pastor have now admitted to killing another woman, according to a new report sighted on AdomOnline.

It will be recalled that the two brutally killed the student nurse Georgina Asor Botchway and buried her in a room at Mankessim. However, after conducting their inquiries, the police decided to exhume the body.

Traditional chief Christopher Ekow Clark Quansah, also known as Nana Clark, and pastor Michael Amponsah Darko, also known as Nana One, both appeared before the Kaneshie District Court in Accra and were remanded into legal prison.

The murder of Gloria Yeboah and conspiracy to commit a crime has been filed jointly against Nana Clark and Darko. They were not heard by the Ama Adomako Kwakye-presiding court. On June 15, the accused are anticipated to make a second appearance.

The police are still looking into the situation further in the interim. The first defendant, Nana Clark, is believed to reside at Essikafoammatem in Mankessim, Central Region, according to the prosecution, which is led by Chief Inspector Margaret Ofori Boadi.

Darko, the second defendant, allegedly dwells in Buokrom, Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region, according to the prosecution. The accused are buddies, according to the report. According to the prosecution’s testimony before the court, Darko and the deceased, who was then employed at the Amegashie Herbal Clinic in Breman-Kumasi, met that year and grew close.

Darko pledged to send the deceased overseas when they first met. According to the report, Darko told the deceased on June 16, 2022, that he had obtained a visa for her to travel to Holland and urged her to meet him there to begin the journey.

According to the prosecution, the deceased met Darko at Achimota in Accra on June 18, 2022, at approximately 1023 hours, with the intention of travelling abroad. Instead, on the same day, Darko pretended to introduce the deceased to his uncle, Nana Clark, by taking her to Yamoransa in the Central Region. According to the prosecution, Darko promised the victim they would return to Accra the same day so she could start her international journey.

It stated that on June 19, 2022, Godslove Benson, the Assembly member for the Batanyaa Electoral Area, reported to the Asebu Police in the Central Region that a female adult’s dead body had been discovered outside of Batanyaa along the Batanyaa-Assin-Fosu Highway.

According to the prosecution, when the police arrived on the scene and investigated the body, they discovered obvious signs of violence on the deceased’s cheek and neck.

According to the report, the body was taken away from the scene and put at the mortuary of the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital for identification, preservation, and autopsy. The suspects were detained on September 19, 2022, for their role in Georgina Asor Botchway’s murder.

According to the prosecution, the suspects who confessed to the crime during questioning also said they killed Gloria Yeboah on June 18, 2022, in Batanya and placed her body alongside the main road connecting Batanya with Assin and Fosu.

According to the report, the suspects showed the police how to find the crime site and where Gloria’s body was discarded. The spot where they dumped Gloria was a perfect match with where the deceased person’s body was discovered.
