Agya Koo bio

Kofi Adu is originally from the Ashanti Region of Ghana but lived in a suburb in Accra Newtown called Asantewaa, also known as Agya Koo, is an actor and comedian from Ghana.[2] He has appeared in over 200 Ghanaian movies including Obaatanpa, Away Bus, Black Star, and Ma Tricki Wo.

Adu hailed from the Ashanti Region of Ghana, but he resided in Asantewaa, an Accra Newtown neighbourhood. He was a cobbler by trade. At the National Theater in Accra, where he worked as a comic warming up the audience before the major drama is produced, Adu was first introduced to the public through a Ghanaian comedy show on GTV (Ghana National Television).

He received a national award from John Agyekum Kufuor, who was Ghana’s president at the time, in July 2008. Agya Koo first came to Accra to sing, but he has since been in numerous Ghanaian films—his top 15 still being on this list.

He said to Joy FM’s former morning show host Kojo Oppong Nkrumah that while actors and actresses are typically given scripts two weeks before they begin shooting, his God-given talent allows him to improvise without a script. He avoided the customary procedure of carefully reading a script before acting in films.
