Popular TikToker Details How KiDi Snubbed Her At An Event

Ghanaian Tiktoker, Obaa Cee has opened up about an unpleasant encounter with KiDi, one of her favourite musicians in Africa.

She said despite actively promoting an award scheme in the USA where KiDi was scheduled to perform, he snubbed her request for a selfie at the event.

Obaa Cee mentioned that she dedicated her time and efforts to promote the event on her social media platforms and at the radio station she was associated with for free.

She added that her promotional endeavours proved successful, attracting a large crowd to the event. However, when Obaa Cee and KiDi crossed paths, he refused her simple request, leaving her feeling both embarrassed and hurt. Obaa Cee shared this unfortunate experience during an interview on The Delay Show with Deloris Frimpong Manso.

“Before his arrival [in the US], I was the one advertising him [KiDi] to the public for commercials. People from neighbouring towns attended because of my promotions. I could have charged a fee, but since we’re from the same hometown I didn’t ask for anything.

“I hoped for a personal moment with him, maybe even a photo. But when I approached him, he crossed his arms, signalling he wasn’t open to interacting, and he completely ignored me. That incident left me feeling embarrassed,” she revealed when asked about her connection with KiDi.

The social media influencer mentioned that despite the negative encounter, she has forgiven KiDi for hurting her pride and causing emotional distress. Indeed, a few months back, a video was shared online where Obaa Cee’s encounter with KiDi surfaced online.

The video showed the moment she attended an event where KiDi was also present, hoping to engage with the popular musician. Despite Obaa Cee’s repeated attempts to get KiDi’s attention for a video, he appeared disinterested and ignored her efforts.

The video of this incident went viral on TikTok, sparking reactions from people in Ghana.
