The untimely demise of Kagney Linn Karter, a popular porn star, has left many in shock. Kagney tragically passed away at her residence in Parma, Ohio, on Thursday at the age of 36.
Heartbroken friends shared the devastating news on a GoFundMe page, citing reports from TMZ that suggest her death was a result of suicide. In a heartfelt tribute, they shed light on Kagney’s lifelong battle with mental health issues.
They stated: “Unfortunately, despite all of her many impressive accomplishments and talents, Kagney struggled with mental health issues as the years passed by.”
Megan and Rachel, the creators of the GoFunMe page, mentioned that despite facing challenges, Kagney remained dedicated to attending classes at Ecole de Pole Cleveland and Ecole de Pole Akron.
They emphasized her commitment to learning, contributing, and self-improvement in any way possible. According to them, Kagney made a conscious effort to support her friends and the community, despite her struggles. Megan and Rachel recalled that Kagney’s last class was on February 7, shortly before her tragic passing.
Kagney initially gained recognition in the adult film industry in the mid-2000s, earning multiple AVN awards for her work.
She also pursued modelling and performed at various exotic clubs throughout her career. In 2019, Kagney decided to leave Los Angeles and return to her pole dancing roots, establishing a regular presence at a studio in Ohio.
Megan and Rachel wrote that Kagney “immediately warmed to the studio and all the students with an effortless grace.” They added that it felt as if she had always been a part of it.
Subsequently, she established her studio after distancing herself from the adult film industry. Kagney directed her attention towards the artistic and athletic aspects of pole dancing, showcasing her development and skill on various online platforms.
The star has been nominated several times for Adult Video News awards, though she has not won.
In 2010, she was nominated as the best new starlet. A year later, she was nominated in 2011 for top female performer of the year.
