Highlife crooner Nana Kwame Ampah, professionally known as Quarme Zaggy, has been nominated in the categories Highlife Artiste of the Year and Highlife Song of the Year for the second edition of the Ghana Music Awards-Europe.

Quarme Zaggy has been in the music scene for more than a decade and has released three bodies of work made up of two albums and one EP.

His single, Galamsey, for which he has received the Highlife Song of the Year nod, is part of his recent EP, “Mr Lova.”

The 6-track EP was released in November 2021 with songs like “Push It,” “Mframa,” “Araba,” “Happy,” and “Ehye Wo Bo.”

In an interview with Amansan Krakye on Kastle FM in Cape Coast, he stated that “This is a new introduction of myself and my artwork to the Ghana music industry.”

The awards programme, which is in its second year, was known as the Ghana Music Awards France.  The organisers announced in a recent press release that “as part of promoting the Ghanaian creative art in France, after few deliberations, we have come to a consensus to rename the scheme to Ghana Music Awards Europe.”

This year’s edition is slated for Saturday 6th May 2023 in Paris.
