Rapper Bad Bunny Slaps Fan With Lawsuit For Posting Video Of His Live Concert Online

Bad Bunny has taken legal action against an enthusiastic fan who uploaded unauthorized footage from his concert last month.

According to TMZ, the Puerto Rican rapper is suing Eric Guillermo Madronal Garrone for sharing recordings of a February concert in Salt Lake City, Utah, on his YouTube channel, MADforliveMUSIC.

While many fans shared short clips on social media, Garrone posted full song performances of high quality. Bad Bunny asserts that he owns the rights to his shows and issued a takedown notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, as he did not grant Garrone permission to share lengthy videos.

After Garrone filed a counterclaim, Bad Bunny decided to sue him and is seeking an injunction to prevent the sharing of the clips online.

Additionally, he is demanding $150,000 for each post or any quantifiable damages suffered as a result. Currently, all the videos in question have been removed from MADforliveMUSIC, except the orchestral intro that opened the show.

Bad Bunny, also referred to as the “King of Latin Trap,” made history by becoming Spotify’s most-streamed artist of the year for three consecutive years from 2020 to 2022.

With over 18.5 billion streams in 2022 alone, he holds the second-highest streaming record in Spotify’s history.

Additionally, as of December 2023, his album Un Verano Sin Ti remains the most streamed album on Spotify, accumulating over 14 billion streams.
