Read: Why Afia Asantewaa’s Husband Apologized To His Children

Kofi Aduonum, the husband of record-chasing Ghanaian celebrity Afua Asantewaa, has expressed his apologies to their children regarding the current situation they find themselves in.

He acknowledged that he failed to show them love during this festive season, as the family had to sacrifice their time together for Afua to achieve her incredible World Record feat. His statement has renewed the discourse surrounding Afua’s singathon as far as entertainment in Ghana is concerned.

“A lot, we denied them love, and care during this festive season and we want to say we love them for understanding us and praying with us all these while,” he told reporters, as quoted by MyNewsGh.

To him, his wife is tough and is glad she has such a heart.

“I haven’t slept for six days. The support started from the very word goal and it’s been massive. I want to say a big thanks to Ghanaians. I want to tell her she’s fought a good fight and the biblical saying; the horse is prepared for the battle but victory lies in the hands of the Lord. She has done her bait and we are trusting good to do the rest”,

Afua Asantewaa has recently surpassed the previous record holder by breaking the longest singing marathon by an individual, surpassing the 105-hour mark. This remarkable achievement was accomplished through a five-day event that commenced precisely at midnight on Sunday, December 24th and concluded on December 29th, 2023.

Afua views this as a wonderful opportunity to showcase exceptional Ghanaian music to the world. She has committed to exclusively performing local music throughout her record-breaking attempt.

The event garnered immense support from thousands of music enthusiasts and well-wishers, including mainstream celebrities in Ghana, who gathered at Akwaaba Village to show solidarity and witness this historic moment. As part of the evidence, Miss Asantewaa mentioned that she is required to document all her practice sessions, preparations, and interviews, which will be included in the final video of her attempt.

During the attempt itself, Afua clarified that she is allowed to sit, stand, or lie down as long as she continues singing; the position does not matter. However, unlike typical music performances, she is not permitted to jam or hum along to the songs, and there will be no drumming. Nevertheless, she can engage in conversation between songs.

Overall, Afua Asantewaa’s record-breaking endeavour has not only captivated the attention of music enthusiasts but has also provided a platform to promote Ghanaian music on a global scale.
