Rev. Anthony Kwadwo Boakye, the Presiding Pastor of the Resurrection Power New Generation Church, has passed away.
According to information obtained by Tru News Report, the well-known prophet died on February 21, 2023, in the evening at the Korlebu Teaching Hospital. His congregation has since issued a statement confirming the news.
Reverend Boakye is said to have had a stroke in November 2021, which left him unable to move. When word of his death spread on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, several members of his church in Ngleshie Amanfro, not far from the Kasoa toll booth, rushed to pay their condolences.
You may recall that Rev. Anthony Kwadwo Boakye announced to his congregation in November 2022 that he had died and then been risen five days later, saying:
“I am a living testimony…I have died and risen again… Because of my strong faith in Him [Jesus], He resurrected me, when I died. If you have not heard it before, yes, I died. My body was kept in the house for five days. Here I am, alive and kicking,” he said in a video message to his church.
“I told God that my time was not up, so he should send me back to the earth.” I was told to come back because my time was not up. If you have faith in Jesus, you will resurrect from the dead just as He did when He died,” he said.
In an address to the church, his wife denied the rumors and said that her husband was merely taking a health-related break from his ministry after 19 years.
Sofo Maame Boakye has been running the church and its funds since then, possibly until her husband gets back.
However, it now appears that Rev. Boakye’s wife may have been concealing some bad news, as the reverend has died.
Despite Rev. Anthony Boakye’s audio message to the church elders in May 2022, warning them not to let his wife manage the church’s money, she was given this responsibility.
After learning that his wife’s attitude had changed since he got sick and she got near the church’s money, the famous man of God ordered that she be removed from the financial department in an audio message.
He made it clear that his wife had no business getting involved in the church’s finances and that she should focus solely on her responsibilities as Sofo Maame and wife.
