Saboba Residents Gives Government One-Month Ultimatum To Fix Their Roads

Residents of Saboba District in the Northern Region have issued a one-month ultimatum to the government to fix the poor road infrastructure linking the district with neighboring regions.

During the rainy season, the road between Saboba, Kpalba, and Yendi becomes impassable, making life in the area unbearable.

On Friday, August 25, 2023, a significant number of residents were compelled to mobilize and engage in a protest against the government and district authorities, for a quick resolution of their pressing issues.

Disappointed locals began their protest at the severed section of the road between Saboba and Kpalba, a distance of around 30 kilometers from the district capital of Saboba, where they planned to deliver their petition to the District Chief Executive.

When speaking to the media, lead convener Jalulah Jagri Maurice voiced his displeasure with the government for leaving the Saboba District out of its Year of Roads agenda.

Some of the demonstrators who spoke to Adom News expressed their anger and said they would not vote again if their roads were not fixed. After receiving the petition, Charles Bingrini, the chief executive of the Saboba District, gave the protesters the assurance that it would be sent to the proper authorities for action.
