Selina Boateng Speaks Out Against Body Shaming And Cyber Bullying

Gospel musician Selina Boateng is strongly against the act of body shaming directed towards women, particularly celebrities.

She hopes that by speaking out, she can get people to stop saying hurtful things about female celebrities.

During an interview with Graphic Showbiz, the singer emphasized the negative effects of body shaming on individuals. She stated that famous people are human too, with feelings and insecurities, and deserve respect and compassion.

“The effects of body shaming are not confined to the public eye. They trickle down to influence societal attitudes towards body image and self-esteem, and this toxic behaviour needs to stop. Behind every celebrity’s public persona lies a human being with emotions, insecurities, and vulnerabilities. When you make mockery of someone’s appearance, you’re not just attacking their image, but you’re also affecting their mental and emotional well-being,” she said.

The singer, who has spoken out about her own struggles with body image, acknowledged the importance of promoting body positivity.

When asked about the extent to which she planned to pursue her campaign, Selina Boateng revealed that her commitment to promoting body positivity extended beyond her social media accounts. She intends to work with other musicians to host events like seminars and workshops to raise awareness of the problem.

Recently, the singer became the target of body shaming after she was seen out in public wearing a figure-hugging corset gown.
