Serwaa Amihere Apologises To Action Chapel Over Choir Design Theft

Serwaa Amihere has issued an apology to Action Chapel International after being exposed for falsely claiming ownership of intellectual property.

In a press release issued subsequent to the significant criticism encountered, Office + Co., the fashion company owned by Serwaa Amihere, asserted insufficiency in the intellectual property (IP) rights pertaining to the Celine dress. The statement said this deficiency arose due to a gap that was identified within their internal IP assurance protocols.

Consequently, according to them, proactive measures have been undertaken to enhance their mechanisms for preventing IP infringements. In order to reaffirm their dedication to upholding IP rights, the Celine dress has been eliminated from their clothing collection.

Our claim to the IP rights in the Celine dress is insufficient. This resulted from a gap which we have identified in our internal IP assurance procedures. We have since taken decisive steps to improve our mechanism for avoiding IP violations. To affirm our commitment to respecting IP rights, we have removed the Celine dress from our clothing line. Additionally, we are, by this publication, recalling the Celine dress. Also, we feel obliged to apologise to the Action Worship Centre for the embarrassment that our claim has caused to them. We wish to re-assure our esteemed customers of our deep commitment to offering a superior quality and style option of globally competitive women’s office clothing and accessories. Thank you.

Serwaa Amihere recently expressed her dissatisfaction after discovering that the choir from Action Chapel International had allegedly copied her clothing design for their new choir dress.

On social media, Serwaa voiced her frustration over what she deemed the theft of her intellectual property. She firmly believes that the design belongs solely to her and has accused the popular Christian Church of engaging in wickedness by profiting from her creation.

The incident occurred during a worship service at Action Chapel, where the choir members were seen wearing dresses that bore striking similarities to those advertised by Serwaa Amihere on “officeandcobyspa”.

The church’s Facebook page featured pictures of the event, which caught Serwaa’s attention and prompted her to express her grievances. It is worth noting that her post has since been deleted.

This is the post she made on Facebook- “This is my intellectual property, Action Worship Center. Your choristers stole my design. Something I am selling. That is wickedness. Pure wickedness”.

After posting a picture of a dress design on social media, Serwaa faced backlash from netizens who accused her of stealing the concept from Pinterest. Despite claiming it as her own intellectual property, fans quickly shared evidence proving otherwise. In an attempt to salvage her reputation, Serwaa promptly deleted the post.

Despite deleting the post, some fans took to their own timelines to call her out, which equally elicited a flurry of varied responses from netizens.
