Shatta Wale Demonstrates Love For The ‘Streets’ As He Chews Roadside Khebab With Fans

Ace Ghanaian artiste, Shatta Wale, whose real name is Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., has once again demonstrated his dominance as the musician with the largest fan base in the country.

The “On God” hitmaker and one of his team members joined his fans on the streets as they ate roadside kebabs in the late hours of Tuesday, August 29, 2023. There were numerous enthusiastic supporters, and individuals vocally expressed their support by screaming out his name.

One of Shatta Wale’s fans had kindly brought him a kebab, which he was enjoying while sitting down, acknowledging cheers from fans who had blocked the streets just to catch a glimpse of him.

Shatta Wale began his youthful musical career under a borrowed name and identity, Doggy, in homage to his favourite DanceHall singer at the time, Yoggy Doggy.

Later he changed his name to Bandana, which catapulted him to popularity after a single hit song. He died in music, was buried for years, and then arose with a new name, Shatta Wale. The new identity came with hit after hit after hit.

In 2019, he also collaborated with Beyoncé on her album The Lion King: The Gift, “Already,” which was nominated for a Grammy Award.

At the International Reggae and World Music Awards in 2021, he was nominated for two awards and won the title for “Best Virtual Entertainer of the Year” (IRAWMA). He was the first Ghanaian to arrange the Faith Concert, a digital event on YouTube.
