Shirley Frimpong Manso, Rita Dominic, Others To Headline 2nd Edition Of Women Of Valour
Renowned figures Shirley Frimpong-Manso, Rita Dominic, and Bonang Matheba have been announced as the keynote speakers for the upcoming Women of Valour event, organized by Nana Aba Anamoah.
This empowering event, founded by accomplished broadcast journalist Nana Aba Anamoah, will take place at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) auditorium on March 7, the day before International Women’s Day.
The inaugural edition, held at the Labadi Beach Hotel, received an overwhelming response, with over 2,000 women and girls registering to attend. However, due to space limitations, only 600 could be accommodated. In response to public demand, this year’s event has been moved to the UPSA auditorium to ensure a more inclusive experience for attendees.
Exciting activities on the agenda include a skincare session by the Good Skin Foundation, an etiquette discussion with Sika Goka of Etiquette Consulting, and a candid conversation on life’s challenges with Obuobia Darko-Opoku.
Nana Aba Anamoah emphasized the importance of Women of Valour, highlighting that the women being honoured have defied stereotypes, broken barriers, and inspired future generations.
Addressing the challenges faced during the previous edition, she acknowledged the disappointment caused by limited space and assured attendees that this year’s event will accommodate a larger audience, ensuring a more inclusive and impactful celebration of women’s courage and resilience.
In her conversation with Doreen Avio, Nana Aba shared her enthusiasm about the exceptional speakers lined up for the upcoming program.
“These women are professionals; Shirley is a supreme woman, I mean, the way she went about it, was fantastic. I requested a video, and when it came, she had already edited it. She proved to me that she is a filmmaker and knows better than me. We didn’t have to touch her video at all.”
