Soldier Who Collapsed During Ghana’s Independence Day Parade Is Dead

An unidentified soldier who participated in Ghana’s Independence Day parade in Koforidua has tragically passed away after collapsing during the ceremony.

The officer of the Ghana Air Force collapsed along with 66 others, with most receiving immediate first aid from standby medical personnel.

Despite efforts to stabilize his condition, the soldier was one of eight individuals rushed to Eastern Regional Hospital for further treatment, where he unfortunately succumbed to his condition.

The Local Organizing Committee expressed deep condolences over the incident and assured that necessary steps are being taken to inform the military high command about the loss.

Additionally, a total of 72 individuals collapsed during the Independence Parade at Tamale Jubilee Park on the same day, including students, service personnel, and soldiers who suffered from severe dehydration due to the harsh weather conditions.

Yakubu Amin Abukari, the northern regional head of the Ghana Red Cross Society, confirmed that all 72 individuals who collapsed were successfully revived with the assistance of the paramedic team present during the parade.
