Surfline SIMs Removed From Central SIM Database – NCA

As of May 31, 2023, the National Communications Authority (NCA) has disconnected all Surfline SIMs from the Central SIM Database. According to the NCA, all Surfline SIM cards are no longer linked to the Central SIM Database.

NCA has stated that it is dedicated to protecting the interests of Surfline subscribers and other users of telecommunications services in the nation.

“Subscribers who hitherto had reached the ceiling of 10 individual SIMs with the addition of their Surfline SIMs, will now be able to link additional SIMs to their Ghana Cards. We also wish to reaffirm our unrelenting commitment to protect the interests of Surfline customers and all users of telecommunications services in Ghana.”

The public’s interest in knowing more about Surfline’s business practises and service interruptions was noticed “with grave” concern by the Authority in May of this year. It has been in contact with Surfline to provide assistance during their service outage, and they are taking steps to protect the safety of their affected subscribers.
