Teacher Kwadwo Shows Off New Car, Retrieves Akufo Addo’s Speech That Says Teachers Can’t Be Millionaires

Teacher Kwadwo has subtly made a mockery of a quote espoused by the president of Ghana, Nana Akufo Addo when he stated infamously that one cannot be a teacher in Ghana and become a millionaire.

The former professional teacher shared a photo of the new brand car he recently acquired and sarcastically employed the aforementioned words as a caption while sharing a photo of the new whip online.

President Akuffo Addo said about a year ago that teachers cannot become billionaires in their line of work, which sparked a huge outcry from Ghanaians.

Well, Teacher Kwadwo is reminding them of the President’s remarks while appearing to be having a great time after losing his job.

“You can’t be a teacher and become a millionaire” – Akuffo Addo” Teacher Kwadwo tweeted.

Michael Owusu Afriyie, also known as Teacher Kwadwo, was a primary four teacher at the Akrofrom District Assembly Primary School in the Ashanti Region.

The GES claims that Teacher Kwadwo engaged in professional wrongdoing and was previously the target of disciplinary action. He missed 55 working days of class during the previous school year, according to the GES.

Due to his headteacher’s “incompetence” and inability to enforce his power and discipline him, he has also been demoted to the classroom teacher.

Additionally, the School Improvement Support Officer (SISO) who was supposed to oversee his work has been transferred from his present position to a classroom teacher in another district.

A commission was formed by the GES to investigate the alleged professional misconduct. The Regional level received a report from the District and relayed it to the National level.

In a document dated October 27, 2021, the GES at the national level reached the decision to terminate. As a certified teacher, Teacher Kwadwo was accused of refusing to create class plans and disobeying the District Director’s order to do so.

He allegedly continued to decline to submit lesson notes for his headteacher to review leading to his dismissal.
