TGMA Petitions: Robert Klah Replies Amerado And Sista Afia

Robert Klah, the Public Relations Officer for Charterhouse, the organizers of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs), has mentioned that Charterhouse will be looking into the concerns raised by Sista Afia and Amerado regarding this year’s awards.

During an interview on Hitz FM, Robert Klah confirmed that the TGMA board has already discussed the petitions and that the decisions made will be shared with the public at the appropriate time.

“There will be forthcoming information regarding all submissions received for the Ghana Music Awards and the resulting nominees. This relates to the one-week window. The board has convened, and details will be shared.

“If any errors or omissions are identified, they will be communicated and rectified. The specifics of submissions and necessary rectifications will be addressed,” he stated.

Robert Klah further encouraged artists who have concerns regarding the nominations to step forward, emphasizing Charterhouse’s dedication to working together with artists and fostering constructive relationships.

“If any artist feels uneasy about the process, they should reach out to us. Dialogue is crucial. We aim to foster a supportive environment and ensure artists know we are here for them,” he affirmed.

His statement comes days after Amerado, who had one of the biggest songs in 2023, expressed his concerns to the award scheme’s board regarding his song Kwaku Ananse (the original version) not receiving any nominations.

In a tweet on X, Amerado expressed his confusion as to why his popular song did not make it into any category for consideration.

Furthermore, Sister Efia also shared her dissatisfaction with the awards scheme organizers, accusing them of undermining her achievements in the music industry.

She highlighted the fact that she has not received a single nomination for the Ghana Music Awards (GMA) in recent years.

In a post on her social media page, she voiced her disappointment regarding her song “Asuoden,” which gained significant popularity in 2021 but was not recognized in any category.
