“There Is Hardship Everwhere But NPP Have Managed The Economic Well” – Ashanti Regional Minister

Simon Osei-Mensah, the minister for the Ashanti region, has said that the ruling New Patriotic Party is not to blame for Ghana’s economic crisis.

In an interview with Kumasi-based Hello FM, he said that he gets angry when people blame his administration or party for the country’s economic crisis. He claims that his government is a victim of a worldwide financial crisis and cannot therefore be blamed for the state of the economy.

“NPP, we have done well; there is hardship, but we have managed it well. Even the richest countries suffer, don’t they? Why are we creating the impression that the NPP has performed badly? It tends to make me angry when I hear that,” he stated.

In the latest news today, the minister argued that despite the criticisms of some people in the country, NPP has done an outstanding job and should be commended.

He went on to say that his position has been well received by those who are aware of international affairs, and that it is the NPP’s duty to educate the general populace of Ghana about how recent global events will affect the country’s economy.
