Trees Crash Vehicles At Airport After Heavy Downpour

The heavy rainfall in Accra on Monday and its surrounding areas has resulted in significant property damage.

Adomonline initially reported that two vehicles were severely impacted by falling trees at the Airport during the downpour.

The strong winds accompanying the rain caused the trees to collapse, destroying the vehicles.

The affected cars are a Matiz bearing registration number GX 747-13 and a Toyota Yaris with registration number GW 5228-18.

Ghana National Fire Service personnel from the 37 stations promptly responded to the scene to cut the trees into logs for easier removal of the vehicles.

The presence of occupants in the cars during the incident is still under investigation.
