US-Based Ghanaian Comedian Kojo Anim Storms Ghana To Find A Wife

US-based Ghanaian comedian Kojo Anim is currently in Ghana to reconnect with his heritage and enjoy himself. He mentioned that one of his primary motivations for being in Ghana is to find a life partner.

During an interview with DJ Andy Dosty, Kojo Anim expressed his struggle with communicating in Twi, his mother’s language, and shared his desire to find a Ghanaian wife who could assist him in learning the language.

He emphasized that he is still on the lookout for the right partner and reassured Ghanaians and his audience that he intends to marry a Ghanaian woman.

The comedian attributed his decision to honour his late mother’s wish for him to marry someone from Ghana.

“We are searching. That’s the real reason why I am in Ghana. I have to marry a Ghanaian woman.”

“I think it means more to me now that my mom is gone. She used to tell me to make sure I marry a Ghanaian girl. For me, I just feel that that’s my connection with my mum.”

Kojo expressed his preference for a specific type of woman he would like to marry, emphasizing that he values character over physical appearance. He pointed out that many of his role models are happily married to women who truly comprehend him and his profession.

“People that I’m around; Dave Chappelle Kevin, and the others are with women who encourage them. I’ve realized that looks fade so you can’t make decisions based on looks. I am looking for character.

“I am looking for someone who understands what I do. If you understand my culture that’s a shocker for me,” he said on Hitz FM.

Kojo Anim made a name for himself by reaching the Final of Season 13 of Britain’s Got Talent. Although he originally comes from Ghana, he moved to London to pursue his comedic career.

During his memorable entrance on the show, Alesha warmly greeted Kojo, who then shared that he had known her for many years. He also revealed that he had previously supported young comedians and served as an opening act for other established comedians, but he desired something more for himself.

In his audition, Kojo touched on various topics, including his African parents, financial struggles, visits to the bank, experiences in Black Cabs, his father’s disapproval of a friend who drank Ribena and encountering a homeless person asking for spare change. Despite Simon’s usual aversion to comedians on the show, he couldn’t help but love Kojo and pressed his Golden Buzzer.

During the Semi-Finals, Kojo entertained the audience with anecdotes about his father allowing him to attend a party, his attempts at faking illness, and his desire for his son to enjoy childhood games like kiss chase.

David praised his performance, stating that Kojo owned the stage for four or five minutes and delivered an incredible show. Amanda echoed this sentiment, declaring that it felt like Kojo’s own show and predicted his place in the Final. Kojo secured the judges’ vote and advanced to the Final round.

In his Final performance, Kojo shared humorous stories about his struggles with transportation from the airport, a friend’s failure to assist him, messy houses, and a pastor in his church who refused to give him change, claiming that God would change his life instead.
