Veteran Nigerian Actress Iyabo Oko Is Dead
Iyabo Oko, a seasoned Nollywood actress best known as Sidikat Odukanwi, has died. The thespian lost the battle after a protracted struggle with an unspecified illness on June 28, 2023.
Her daughter, Bisi Aisha, a female soldier, confirmed the news of her death but failed to disclose the circumstances of her passing.

Odukanwi’s death comes weeks after her junior colleague, Murphy Afolabi died under controversial circumstance.
Osun State’s Iwo is where Odunkanwi was born. She began her acting career as a teenager in 1973 with the Eda Onileola Theatre Troupe. Later, she rose to fame for her character performance in the Oga Bello-produced film Oko.
She was given an ischemic stroke diagnosis in 2015, which forced her to stop acting. For her contribution to the expansion of the Yoruba movie industry, she received the Special Recognition Award at the City People Entertainment Awards in 2016.
