Watch: Father Of Late Aburi Girl Students Weeps As He Blames School For His Daughter’s Death

The father of the student from Aburi Girls Senior High School who tragically lost her life has spoken out about the sad incident.

In an interview with TV3, the father expressed his frustration with the school, stating that he had already paid for health insurance and couldn’t understand why his daughter wasn’t taken to the hospital when she complained about her illness. Instead, they had to drive 34 minutes away from the school to seek medical help.

“I drove 34 minutes to get to the school. When I got there, my daughter was lying helplessly on the floor. I was confused, and my wife had to prompt me to drive the car in her direction and pick her up. Unfortunately, when I got to Mampong, the doctors declared her dead on arrival,” he told TV3.

“So if I were at Bole Bamboi, would they have waited for me to get to the school before taking my daughter to the hospital? Why then were we charged health Insurance if they can’t care for our children when they are sick?” he questioned.

Meanwhile, Tru News Report came across a tweet from a young woman who claims to be the cousin of the late Aburi Girls High School student who tragically passed away shortly after complaining about stomach pains.

In response to a news report shared on Twitter by blogger Sika Official, the woman, known as Tina, stated that her cousin did not suffer from the stomach pains that the school is claiming.

According to Tina, the deceased had malaria, and the school failed to provide the necessary assistance, leading to a deterioration in her condition. She further alleged that when the girl’s parents arrived at the school, they found their daughter lying lifeless on the floor.

Earlier today, it was reported that the deceased, a first-year student at Aburi Girls Senior High School (SHS) in the Eastern Region, passed away due to alleged medical negligence. The student had complained of severe stomach pains and unfortunately succumbed on Monday, February 5, 2024.

It is claimed that the school nurse denied her medical attention, accusing her of pretending to be ill. When the authorities finally realized the seriousness of the situation and rushed the girl to the hospital, it was too late.

The student’s body has been taken to the Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital for an autopsy. Her family, who reportedly live abroad, have arrived in Ghana after receiving the devastating news.

The police, in collaboration with the school management, are conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the student’s untimely death.
