Watch How Okudzeto And His NDC Supporters Celebrated The ‘Victory’ In Kusi Boateng’s Case

Several highly-motivated supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) gathered at the Accra Court Complex to demonstrate support for one of their own Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, wearing mostly red colors and some traditional clothing.

Lawyers for Kusi Boateng, Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the National Cathedral, had filed an application of contempt against North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.

After hearing from the applicant’s and defendants’ attorneys and considering their arguments, the judge at the Accra High Court, Charles Gyami Danquah, put the case on hold until the right steps are taken to serve Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, saying that “there was no evidence in the records to indicate that the MP had been served”.

As the mp left the main courthouse building after what appeared to be a victory that day, he was greeted by the large group of people who had come to show their support. Several of them tossed powder into the air while others chanted loud songs and shouted while others attempted to dump powder on the MP.

Background

On January 16, 2023, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa made some allegations against Rev. Kusi Boateng, secretary of the National Cathedral of Ghana’s Board of Trustees. He previously revealed that the National Cathedral had paid a company called JNS Talent Centre Ltd a hefty GH2.6 million.

Inquiries into the alleged payment led investigators to learn that one Kwabena Adu Gyamfi served as a director of JNS Talent Centers. Ablakwa conducted more research in an effort to identify the third director, Kwabena Adu Gyamfi, after confirming the identities of two of the center’s three directors.

His research, which was based on a number of legal documents, showed that Kwabena Adu Gyamfi was the same person as Reverend Kusi Boateng, who had been using the name Kwabena Adu Gyamfi.
